The International Music Academy Pilsen, now in its fourth year, is the product of many years of collaboration between our faculty members and major international teachers. It was founded to foster those relationships with the goal of developing young talent. Established Czech, American, British, French, Chilean, Ukrainian, Russian and South African faculty and staff assist us in our goal of pursuing a world class Academy and enable students to achieve a high level of accomplishment during the four week session. Consisting of string, piano, improvisation and chamber music programs, the IMAP also includes private study and master classes with tri-weekly concerts in beautiful historic locations throughout Pilsen. This year we are proud to announce new additions to our outstanding faculty: Violinists David Updegraff from the Cleveland Institute of Music, Marjorie Bagley from Ohio University, Naxos recording artist Solomia Soroka from the Ukraine, Chilean cellist Pablo Mahave-Veglia of the Kapell Trio, and pianist Stephen Swedish, Steinway artist and pianist of the Kapell Trio.
IMAP faculty and alumni scored victories in major competitions as well as performing in dozens of major concerts around the world. Highlights include:
We look forward to your interest in studying and making music in the beautiful countryside of the Czech Republic!
